Safety Intern
Description
We are seeking a motivated Safety Intern to support our emergency evacuation planning and preparedness efforts. This role will have the opportunity to assist the safety team with reviewing and updating evacuation procedures, improving safety documentation and maps, supporting fire drill planning, and helping ensure staff are prepared and aligned with safety regulations and best practices.
- Benchmark best practices
- Review and update the Emergency Action Plan, focusing on evacuation
- Plan and execute training in office areas
- Prioritize timely evacuation and accountability
- Create post-drill analysis
- Create a plan for the path forward
What You Will Need
- Currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety & Health, or a closely related field
- Must be in good academic standing
- Ability to work well with other departments and varying levels of management.
- Proficient with Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
- Excellent communications (oral, written); organizational and facilitation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including organizing and managing spreadsheets to track multiple processes and data points
